• Beautiful villa but average helper

  A beautiful villa that is situated in a convenient yet not so touristy area. The only letdown was the helper who was nit very resourceful and whose cooking was way below what the average standard is. Our group of 8 wanted to rent motorcycles and seemed the assistance of the helper to hire 5 units. The helper returned to the villa to say there was none available. Not convinced we left the villa in search of them and found a place nearby that not only rents but also is able to deliver to the villa. You'd expect to get more help from a local but that was not the case. Also, there were times when we wanted transport to go to the town but the villa management was unable to help with any such arrangements citing that their usual drivers were all not available. We later found put that the villa only uses a certain company or group of drivers, hence they would not go out of their way to look for other 3rd party transport. Rather disappointing compared to the often wonderful service and assistance we got from other villas and their management. Response from management team

  We are always very grateful for feedback and reviews from our guests, and appreciate the guests comments below. We are pleased that the guests loved our beautiful villa and appreciated how convenient Moonstone Villa is to stunning Nai Harn Beach and how un-spoilt the southern part of Phuket is. Our "helper" in Moonstone Villa is a daily housekeeper who is employed to clean the villa, but being a Thai national will prepare Thai dishes for guests to try, she is not a trained chef and, like all our housekeepers, and she prepares meals from tried and tested family recipes handed down to each generation. Our housekeeper's cooking has been loved by many guests, and indeed complimented by many "foodies" so I am sure it depends on each guests preferences and individual tastes. With regards to transportation, the Management offers to arrange motorbike or car rental in advance for guests, but when it is short notice in Peak Season, between the Christmas and New Year period we cannot guarantee availability from our usual suppliers if arranging rentals is not considered until after guests arrival. The housekeeper is just that, a housekeeper, and although tried to help in this instance, she is not part of the Villa's Management, and she tried to help out, but was unsuccessful. In our A-Z guide at the property and all the information emailed to guests prior to arrival, and the welcome letter given to guests on arrival, The Management suggest considering transportation prior to guests arrival, and will then make arrangements on their behalf. If taxis are required at short notice, and The Management (as opposed to the housekeeper) is contacted, we will endeavour to find transportation for guests as required. We have an extensive base of local drivers and transportation companies that we use, so we can ensure the quality of the vehicles and drivers, and also can confirm and monitor prices to guests, so they are not overcharged, and vehicles are insured. During this particular guests short three day trip, may be they did not get to appreciate the full support offered by The Villas Team, as they only asked and relied on the local housekeeper for help, as opposed to contacted the people experienced to do so. Again, we appreciate your feedback and will ensure guests are fully aware of who to speak to for additional support, even at the last minute, to ensure that every aspect of their holiday at Moonstone Villa is enjoyed.   Moonstone villa is set within much greenary and a 30 mins walk to nearby eateries within Nai Harn area and the nearby beaches. Lovely interior with wifi and nice pool. Its got its own security so no worries in that area. The day chef cum domestic helper whilst good in helping you acquire the daily necessities, does not cook very good Thai dishes so you if you're a foodie and are picky about how Thai food should be you might be better off eating out. Booking of transportation or other services through the helper is also not advisable as she only goes through one source which is tied to the villa. This means prices are often inflated and transportation is sometimes unavailable. For example we wanted to rent scooters to go around and was told that there were none available. However, walking around the villa area we managed to get some and at a much cheaper rate than that quoted by the helper.
